SIMA (Seismic Internet Monitoring Application)

SIMA2 Client

SIMA2 Client is a managed .NET application. It is distributed under the GNU General Public License. Click here for the download page.

Using SIMA2 Client you can:

  • connect to any number of SIMA2 servers
  • display online (near-real-time) seismic traces from the servers
  • request historical seismic traces from the servers
  • combine traces from different servers and stations in one trace panel
  • save/load seismic data to local disk

SeismicWaves3D

SeismicWaves3D is a managed .NET application. It is distributed under the GNU General Public License. Click here for the download page.

Using SeismicWaves3D  you can:

  • simulate propagation of seismic waves through the earth
  • see earth cross section or earth surface, make the earth semi-transparent
  • change the earth texture to political or geological map
  • organize earthquake records
  • connect through RSS to internet earthquake database

The program is based on software designed by Dr. Alan Jones (see http://bingweb.binghamton.edu/~ajones).

SIMA2 Server

SIMA2 Server is a managed .NET windows service. It is distributed under the GNU General Public License. Click here for the download page.

Using SIMA2 Server you can:

  • connect to any number of TINI boards/DATAQ converters
  • store seismic data on the local disk

Server snapshots:

Data from all seismometers involved in the project are collected by server shake.cs.moravian.edu, online port 8040, offline port 8050.

SIMA2 DATAQ AD Converter

SIMA2 DATAQ converter is a managed .NET windows application. It is distributed under the GNU General Public License. Click here for the download page.

Using SIMA2 DATAQ Converter you can:

  • capture signal from connected DATAQ AD converters, DATAQ converter is made DATAQ instruments.
  • transmit the signal to a SIMA2 Server
  • currently supported DATAQ converters are DI154RS, DI194RS, DI148U, DI158U, recommended version is DI158U (USB)

SIMA2 TINI code

SIMA2 TINI code runs on TINI and tStick boards running Slush operating system vr. 1.11 and 1.12. TINI or tStick boards must be plugged into a STEP board. TINI is made by Dallas Semiconductor, tStik is made by Systronix, and STEP board is also made by Systronix.

Using SIMA2 TINI code you can:

  • capture the signal from up to four seismometers
  • transmit the signal to a SIMA2 server
